The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.The Senior Manager, Crisis Management & Communications is responsible for global crisis readiness, structured response, and strategic communications across real estate, facilities, and capital project operations. This role ensures that DPS can respond decisively, transparently, and consistently to disruptive events impacting people, sites, infrastructure, or major projects. This role plays a critical leadership role in protecting DePuy Synthes reputation by leading crisis preparedness, response, and communications strategies, with high visibility and direct impact on trust, credibility, and business continuity.This position serves as the enterprise owner for crisis management frameworks and operational communications within Business Operations & Project Delivery, partnering closely with FM, EHS, Security, Legal, and Corporate Communications.Scope of RoleEnterprise scope: Real Estate, Facilities, and Capital Project Delivery Functional scope: Crisis management, change communications, emergency escalation Geographic reach: Worldwide Authority: Global crisis and communications frameworks; execution via regional and site teams Key ResponsibilitiesCrisis Management FrameworksDefine and maintain global crisis management playbooks, escalation protocols, and governance structures Ensure alignment with enterprise crisis management, business continuity, and security protocols. Clarify roles, decision rights, and escalation paths during incidents. Crisis Response & CoordinationSupport real‑time crisis response by enabling structured decision‑making and information flow. Act as a central coordination point across functions and regions during major incidents. Ensure accurate, timely leadership updates during active events. Communications & Change EnablementOwn communications strategy for operational changes, major projects, and transformations. Develop executive‑level messaging for disruptions, risks, and change impacts. Support leadership with clear, consistent narratives during uncertainty. Ensure clear, consistent, and compliant communications to internal and external stakeholders during critical events. Preparedness & Continuous ImprovementLead crisis simulations, readiness reviews, and after‑action assessments. Identify gaps in preparedness and drive corrective actions. Track trends in operational disruptions to improve future readiness. Monitor emerging risks, issues, and trends that could escalate into crises and recommend proactive actions. Stakeholder PartnershipPartner closely with: Facilities Management & FM Risk/Compliance Security, EHS, and Legal Corporate Communications Regional and Site Leadership QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA, MA, or equivalent) preferred. RequiredExperience and Skills:8-10 years of progressive experience in crisis management, communications, corporate affairs, risk management, or related disciplines. Demonstrated experience leading crisis communications or issue management in a complex organization. Strong ability to develop clear, concise messaging under pressure. Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing decision‑making during high‑stakes situations. PreferredExperience in medical device, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries. Familiarity with enterprise risk management, business continuity, or emergency response programs. Experience leading crisis simulations, tabletop exercises, or preparedness training. Background working in global or matrixed organizations. Strong executive‑level presentation and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environments. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
