This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting, values teamwork, and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care throughout the surgical experience.What You'll DoSurgical Support & Patient Care Assist the surgical team during operative proceduresPrepare patients for surgery, including positioning and sterile drapingPass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during proceduresHold retractors, cut sutures, and perform additional intraoperative tasks as directed by the surgeonPrepare dressings or bandages and assist with post-surgical applicationObserve patients' vital signs to assess physical conditionPrepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens for laboratory analysisSterile Technique & Compliance Maintain a proper sterile field throughout surgical proceduresCount sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operationsScrub arms and hands and assist the surgical team with sterile attire and glove applicationWash and sterilize equipment using germicides and sterilizersOperate and monitor sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper functionalityMonitor operating room conditions and anticipate the needs of both the patient and surgical teamComplete annual mandatory training by assigned deadlinesOperations & Room Preparation Clean and restock operating rooms between casesGather and organize surgical equipment and instruments according to preference cards and instructionsMaintain surgical procedure files and recordsOrder surgical supplies and maintain fluid inventory, including plasma, saline, blood, and glucoseCommunicate accurate and timely patient information to the Registered NurseRecord pertinent information clearly, accurately, and promptlyAssist with preparing and moving patients as neededPerform other related duties as assignedYou'll Thrive in This Role If You...
