This individual will create full meals for lunch, post-game meals, and preflight meals. They will work within the nutrition area to provide high quality meals in an organized, clean environment, making sure all players and staff are taken care of each day. Under the direction of the executive chef, this position will assist with management and operations of the kitchen. Responsibilities: Assistance with the management and operation of the kitchen staff. Executing opening and closing checklists for daily service at SSC. Quality control of food service production. Maintaining clean and organized food storage and prep areas. Executing food service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the direction of the Executive Chef/Dietitian. Ensure kitchen operates in a timely manner off guidelines set by Executive Chef at SSC Following dietary guidelines set forth by Team Dietitian to maximize player care. Record and keep track of all expenditure related to meals outside of facilities. Clean up and leave the player’s kitchen clean once meals are over. Receiving and putting away food orders. Collaborating with Dietitian/Executive Chef on menu development. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, basketball operations staff and players. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of cooking experience as a sous chef or line cook. Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Familiar with industry best practices in safe handling of food. Flexibility in ever changing needs of the nutrition program. Needs to have flexible availability.
