The position follows a hybrid work model with on-site presence required in the Schaumburg, IL office.Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented Full-Stack Application Engineer to join our team in Schaumburg, IL. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining core business applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in modern .NET / .NET Core for backend services, along with experience in contemporary front-end frameworks (Angular strongly preferred). A solid understanding of enterprise application architecture, secure API design, and complex business workflows is essential. The developer will work closely with business stakeholders, underwriting teams, and IT leadership to translate specialized business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET / .NET Core, C#, RESTful APIs, and modern UI frameworks.Maintain and enhance existing applications, frameworks, and shared libraries.Design and implement new features aligned with business processes and workflows.Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support.Ensure compliance with security, performance, and architectural standards.Contribute to modernization initiatives, including framework evolution and technical debt reduction.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality solutions.Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes.RequirementsStrong experience with .NET / .NET Core and C#.Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core) and ORM best practices.Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture principles.Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures.Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, identity frameworks).Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks; Angular strongly preferred.Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.Experience building component-based UI architectures.Familiarity with UI libraries such as Angular Material, Bootstrap, or similar.Experience using Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).Experience using or exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.Knowledge of API gateways, service orchestration, and automated testing frameworks.Exposure to agentic workflows or integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications.Experience in insurance, underwriting systems, or complex business-rule-heavy environments.Prior experience with legacy system modernization initiatives.
