The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.Vast is looking for a Senior RF Engineer, reporting to the Director of RF Engineering, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.ResponsibilitiesOwn one or more RF products from development testing through mission serviceOwn subject matter expertise over the purpose and function of your RF components in the context of the overall RF systemPlan the design, manufacturing, testing, integration, and delivery to the vehicle and coordinate the schedule with interfacing teams and project managementDocument and review your work output with peers through trade studies and design reviewsManage relationships with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, test engineers, manufacturing engineers, thermal engineers, and avionics engineersManage vendors and clearly communicate requirements, deliverables, and scheduleDefine test plans and procedures for acceptance and qualification testingDefine and document checkout tests to validate proper operation during and after integration at the vehicle levelSupport mission operations as a subject matter expert on your componentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other relevant engineering or science disciplineFamiliarity with RF test equipmentFamiliarity with digital RF communication theory, components, and fundamentalsFamiliarity with programmingProduct management experiencePreferred Skills & ExperienceExpertise with detailed concepts in RF communicationExpertise with lab measurements for RF systemsFamiliarity with RF antenna and propagation conceptsFamiliarity with design for space environmentsExperience using standard CAD/EDA toolsAdditional RequirementsFamiliarity with design for space environmentsDetailed familiarity with RF componentsPay RangeRF Engineer Level II: $120,540 - $171,108Senior RF Engineer: $147,600 - $209,520Pay Range: California$120,540—$209,520 USDWe calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
