More than 30,000 organizations already rely on us to verify the identities of people and things, grant access to digital services, analyze vast quantities of information and encrypt data to make the connected world more secure.Position SummaryAustin, Hybrid Thales is looking for a Integration, Validation, Verification and Qualification (IVVQ) Engineer who is an experienced individual contributor responsible for leading validation activities for complex software products and features supporting state and local government identity, driver license, ID credentialing, and biometric public safety solutions.This role owns the validation lifecycle for assigned products, features, and releases, including test strategy, test planning, test case design, automation development, execution, defect management, metrics, and validation reporting. The IVVQ Engineer applies strong technical judgment to ensure software quality, reliability, traceability, and compliance with product requirements while supporting timely delivery across Agile and/or Waterfall development environments.Operating with a high degree of independence, this role partners closely with software engineering, architecture, product, project, and IVVQ teams to identify quality risks early, improve testability, resolve complex defects, and ensure validation activities are aligned with product priorities and release commitments. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of validation practices, including automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, AI-enabled testing methods, and process enhancements that improve efficiency, coverage, and product quality.Regulatory Compliance RequirementsMust have U.S. Citizenship to obtain the post-hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and must be able to obtain post-hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Treasury.Key Areas of Responsibility Own and execute the full IVVQ validation lifecycle for assigned products, features, releases, and test campaigns.Define, maintain, and execute validation strategies aligned with product requirements, technical architecture, quality standards, and delivery timelines.Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, validation procedures, and traceability documentation based on functional and technical specifications.Design, develop, maintain, and improve automated test frameworks and scripts to support scalable, repeatable, and efficient validation.Execute manual, automated, integration, regression, performance, API, and system-level testing as appropriate to product scope.Analyze test results, identify trends, assess quality risks, and communicate findings to technical and product stakeholders.Own defect identification, documentation, triage, investigation, tracking, and resolution coordination through closure.Partner with software engineers, architects, product teams, project teams, and other IVVQ contributors to resolve complex technical issues and improve product quality.Participate in requirements, design, architecture, and sprint/release planning reviews to ensure testability, quality, and risk mitigation are addressed early.Deliver assigned validation scope within sprint, release, or project commitments, ensuring work is completed on time and aligned with product priorities.Generate validation reports, quality metrics, dashboards, and release-readiness inputs to provide visibility into product quality and validation status.Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to software quality, integration, validation, verification, and qualification.Leverage AI-driven tools and methods to improve test generation, execution efficiency, defect detection, and validation coverage.Continuously improve IVVQ processes, tools, automation practices, documentation, and methodologies.Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.Contribute to product and validation documentation, including specifications, user-facing documentation, technical procedures, and IVVQ artifacts.Provide technical guidance, knowledge-sharing, and support to less experienced team members as needed.Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in IVVQ, software validation, test automation, quality engineering, or a related software engineering discipline.Demonstrated experience owning validation scope for complex software products, features, releases, or integrated systems.Strong knowledge of software quality practices, IVVQ methodology, test strategy, defect management, and requirements traceability.Proven experience with modern test automation tools such as TestComplete, Selenium, Playwright, JMeter, or similar tools.Proficiency with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C#, Java, or similar.Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid software development environments.Knowledge of web API testing, usability testing, security testing concepts, and integrated system validation.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex or integrated software environments.Ability to communicate technical information clearly to internal stakeholders, project teams, and cross-functional partners.Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently, manage assigned scope, and adapt quickly in a dynamic delivery environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing or improving test automation frameworks.Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.Experience with API testing and automation tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or similar.Experience supporting validation for government, identity, biometric, credentialing, public safety, or regulated software products.Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and services such as AWS or Azure.Experience using metrics, dashboards, and quality reporting to support release readiness decisions.Ability to assess complex situations, define practical validation strategies, and simplify execution for delivery teams.Ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous or uncertain technical environments.Knowledge of AI-enabled testing, test optimization, or defect detection methods.Interest or experience
