Resident Assistant
Description:
Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
Job Description
Clean patient equipment and resident's personal care and grooming items per established procedure
Ensure residents closets, bedside stands, drawers, etc are orderly and odor free
Observe and practice safety according to facility policy and procedure
Demonstrate and able to explain infection control and isolation procedures.
Support residents' participation in activity programs
Promote and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, residents, visitors, volunteers and regulators
Promptly respond to call lights and other resident needs
Treat residents with compassion and dignity
Show respect for resident's and company property
Ambulate residents
Report the following to the charge nurse and the care giving team as appropriate and/or document according to policy and procedure; a significant change in a resident's condition, a change in resident's vital signs or weight, any accidents and injuries, any changes in a resident's skin integrity, behavioral changes, signs of resident depression or anxiety, changes in a resident's ambulation status, the level of the resident's food consumption, and the resident's intake of food and liquids as well as the resident's output, when indicated
Requirements:
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors at all levels
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information
Must be willing to assist others, including co-workers.
Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fingering, fine hand coordination, ability to talk and hear; ability to read and write; ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to adequately lift, support and bodily manipulate the weight of a patient.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
High school diploma or equivalent
