Facilities Technician

Position SummaryThis role supports building projects, repairs, and improvements across Valley Queen facilities. The primary focus is on maintaining and improving plant infrastructure , with hands-on construction, repair, and maintenance work.What You'll DoPerform carpentry work on Valley Queen-owned rental homes, temporary project structures, and other assigned projectsComplete small concrete projects , including drilling, cutting, demolition, prep work, forming, pouring, and finishingInstall, maintain, and repair flooring systems , including tile floorsRepair and maintain painted and caulked surfaces , especially in areas that require heavy wash-downs using industrial materialsOperate large equipment for construction projects and snow removal during winter monthsCoordinate and oversee outside contractors , ensuring work quality meets Valley Queen standards and safety rulesAddress facility issues listed in the corrective action system in a timely mannerFollow all safety, food safety, and quality standards to support a safe work environmentComplete required safety and quality training on timeKeep shops, vehicles, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safeUse tools, materials, and supplies responsibly to maintain facilities efficiently and cost-effectivelyLook for ways to improve processes, safety, and facility conditionsSkills & Qualities We're Looking ForStrong technical and construction skillsAbility to solve problems and work independentlyGood communication skillsBasic computer skillsStrong time management and initiativeTakes pride in quality work and safetySupervisory Responsibilities* This position does not supervise other employeesWork EnvironmentWork takes place in a plant and shop settingMay be exposed to noise, moving equipment, vibration, dust, and temperature changesUse of safety equipment is requiredPhysical Requirements* Physical requirements are outlined in a separate functional job descriptionSchedule & HoursFull-time positionTypically works 10-12 hour shifts, Monday through ThursdayFridays as neededOn-call during winter months for snow eventsTravel* Minimal travel required (less than 5%)Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDAssociate degree in a related technical field or equivalent construction experienceBasic computer skillsMust be at least 18 years oldMust have or be able to obtain a valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications* Bilingual in English and SpanishAdditional InformationThis job description is intended to describe the general nature of the role.
