We believe client needs should be met first and we fully support taking time away from your desk to ski, hike, go to a child’s event or do what you need to do in your life.We are looking for a dynamic Controller to join our fast-growing team to work with multiple clients providing fractional controller services. You will partner with both client and ScaleUp personnel to support a broad range of industries to help clients succeed in their goals and growth.ResponsibilitiesManage multiple clients and accounting staff on those clients to ensure accounting functions are completed in the desired timelines and financial reporting is produced in accordance with the close scheduleManage relationships with clientsOversee accounting functions including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll, accruals and month-end closePrepare and record accrual entries and support schedulesDocument accounting processes and policiesPrepare various ad-hoc reports as required by clientWork with tax advisors to ensure compliance and filings are completedSet-up and maintain state registrations and filings as may be required for sales tax or payroll purposedProduce financial statements in various formats and views as required by the clientCoordinate the year-end close process with external auditors if neededAssist in the preparation of budget, cash flow and financial modelsAssist with training staff as neededManage accounting and other integrated systemsPrepare variance analysisManage relationships with banks and other third parties as neededOther duties as may be assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience with a CPA preferredMinimum 5 years experience with a 3 years minimum working as a ControllerStrong knowledge of GAAP, preferred experience either working as an auditor or preparing for and going through audits as a ControllerPreferred experience working in a client facing, billable hour environment, managing multiple clients/engagementsExcellent communication skills with the ability to prioritize and work across different teamsAdvanced working knowledge of QBO and Excel is required, preferred experience working with Bill.com and Gusto and ability to learn and use new software systemsThe ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and managementDemonstrated organization and project management experienceExperience performing detailed financial analysisSolution oriented with a roll-up your sleeves mentalityColorado, Arizona and Washington based candidates highly preferredThis is a part-time position of 10-20 hours a week with the intent to get to 20 hours a week. It can grow into a full-time position of approximately 35 hours a week, if you desire full-time hours.CompensationOur compensation model is designed so you share in the success of the firm. You are compensated on a commission basis where we pass through a percentage of collected billings to you. As a Controller your commission will work out to be between $100 and $110 per hour. We have a full set of benefits available for full-time employees which includes health, dental, medical, 401k, holiday pay and a bonus plan.
