Key Qualifications and Experience:Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of HearingExperience working with children and young adults who are deaf or hard of hearingFamiliarity with a wide range of communication modalities such as ASL, oral approaches, and/or cued speech (preferred)Knowledge of IEP development and implementation for students with hearing lossStrong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, families, and service providers Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct instruction and support to a caseload of 14 students from early childhood through age 22Adapt and modify curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for students with varying communication needsDevelop, implement, and monitor IEPs in close partnership with educational teamsProvide guidance and resources to staff and families regarding strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearingFoster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, promoting advocacy and self-advocacy among studentsParticipate in meetings, assessments, and professional development as needed This role offers the chance to see meaningful progress in students' communication and academic skills throughout the school year.
