Concrete Specialist

At SSRG, we’re not just preserving and restoring structures, we’re building a legacy of quality, integrity, and purpose.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in setting up forms for pouring concrete and ensure proper alignment and leveling.Follow directions from supervisors to mix concrete to specific ratios and ensure proper application.Operate power tools and machinery, such as concrete mixers, vibrators, saws, and trowels, safely and efficiently.Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment required for concrete construction tasks.Pour, spread, and smooth concrete using shovels, trowels, screeds, and floats to achieve the desired finish.Apply sealants or waterproofing materials to protect concrete surfaces as required.Perform basic carpentry work related to building and dismantling formwork as directed.Monitor concrete as it hardens and cure it according to established procedures to prevent defects.Cut expansion joints and edges in concrete using appropriate tools.Maintain a clean and safe worksite by removing debris and hazardous materials from the area.Collaborate with other construction team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training.Inspect finished concrete work for quality and compliance with building codes.Repair any imperfections or damages to concrete surfaces as instructed.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years' experience in concrete construction or related fieldProficient with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniquesAbility to operate power tools and heavy machinery such as concrete mixers, saws, drills, and vibratorsKnowledge of concrete curing methods and standardsUnderstanding of construction safety practices and OSHA regulationsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawingsPhysical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditionsExcellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a teamHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional training from a vocational school is a plusValid driver’s license and reliable transportationWillingness to work overtime and weekends as requiredCapable of passing a drug screening and background check if required by the employerA valid driver’s license is required for this role.
