Social Media Intern

OverviewThe Social Media Intern is responsible for planning content, engaging with our communities, and working closely with key brand functions. This position reports to the Social Media Manager and focuses on assisting in executing engagement strategies, managing conversations, and contributing to user-generated content and employee advocacy initiatives as a producer and storyteller of the brand. The Social Media Intern serves as the voice of Cavender's in social media, building relationships with customers and advocates while supporting content amplification and engagement efforts across all channels.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the "Cavender's Culture" and drive out Mission, Vision, and ValuesAssists in day-to-day social media activities, which include sourcing, curating, and distributing diverse user-generated content on all social platforms, driving customer engagement, and building a social community around the Cavender's brand through thoughtful, relevant commentaryAssists Social Media Content Coordinator with onsite social media presence and support at special events, rodeos, grand openings, etc.Assists in content copywriting and creative support for all social media platforms.Research and identify opportunities to grow user-generated content by uncovering new audiences, communities, and content trends that expand reach and strengthen brand connectionResearch and identify emerging social media trends, features, and innovative usageExperiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities to encourage customer engagement and gain insight into customer behavior and buying patternsAssist in the execution of special projects as assigned or neededEnsure all materials are on time, error-free, and optimized to deliver on key performance indicatorsQualifications and RequirementsCurrently enrolled in an accredited high school or collegiate institutionPassion for the Western lifestyle and fashion industryAn avid interest in social media, western retail, and content creationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a highly respectful and positive mannerAbility to interpret documentsAbility to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasksAbility to understand the meanings of words and effectively respondAbility to comprehend complex issues and communicateAssociate must be able to stay alert during work hours assignedBased in Tyler, TX at our home officePreferred Skills Passionate about social media and extremely active in that communityPossesses excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, presentation, and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAction-oriented with the ability to prioritize and drive resultsAbility to work individually on a project or within a team environmentAbility to handle high-pressure/stressful situations in a professional mannerCavender's is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
