Rise Afterschool Group Leader

Rise Aftercare Group LeaderThe Rise School of Dallas is an inclusive preschool providing high-quality education to children with and without disabilities. The Aftercare Group Leader is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children ages 6 months to 6 years during aftercare hours. This role is ideal for individuals seeking extra income, who enjoy being active, playful, and hands-on with children of all ages. The Group Leader will serve as a positive role model for participants and uphold the values and expectations of the Rise program. Daily Responsibilities Support the Associate Program Director in operating the aftercare program while following all YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas policies, procedures, and TDFPS standards. Actively engage with children in physical play, light enrichment activities, and fun, social games until parents arrive for pickup. Supervise an assigned group of children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times. Help maintain, organize, and inventory program supplies. Report any staff or child accidents, incidents, or suspected abuse immediately to the Associate Program Director, completing required documentation and following all emergency procedures. Attend required staff meetings, training, and any additional meetings designated by the Associate Program Director or Program Director. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized program environment, ensuring set-up and clean-up meet school and program expectations. Participate in emergency drills (fire, chemical spill, tornado, etc.) and confidently implement all required safety procedures. Complete all additional site-specific responsibilities assigned by the Associate Program Director or Program Director. What We're Looking For 18+ with a High School Diploma or higher. Experience in childcare OR willingness to complete Pre-Service Training. Training can be completed on the job, with support from the Associate Program Director. Enjoy working with children of all ages. Comfortable with light physical activity and active play. Dependable, positive, patient, and team-oriented. Physical Requirements Able to lift 40 lbs. and participate in daily physical activities with children.
