Surface Finishing and Coatings Technician

Location: Katy, TX, 77493A day in this roleYou start your shift by checking equipment readiness, lining up parts, and reviewing the day’s priorities. From there, you move between surface prep and final touches—sanding edges smooth, polishing to a uniform sheen, and applying coatings with a steady hand. You verify each piece against specifications, record what you completed, and flag anything that doesn’t meet standards. Throughout the day, you help teammates hit production targets, keep your station spotless, and make sure tools and the paint sprayer are running at their best. When a new hire joins the line, you show them the ropes and share safe, efficient techniques.What you’ll handleEnd-to-end finishing tasks: sanding, buffing/polishing, and coating application.Quality checks to confirm dimension, finish, and specification compliance.Setup, operation, and basic upkeep of finishing gear and tools.Partnering with the team to meet daily and weekly output goals.Documenting work performed and reporting irregularities to supervisors.Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times.Sharing techniques and assisting with onboarding and training of new team members.What you bringHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical/manufacturing coursework a plus.Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.Exceptional attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.Comfort working independently and within a collaborative team.Basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with hand tools and finishing equipment.Clear communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.Curiosity and adaptability to learn new processes and technologies.Tools you’ll usePaint Sprayer
