Department: SoftwareLocation: Redondo Beach Compensation: $34.00 / hourDescriptionAs an Associate RF Embedded Software Engineer your core responsibility will be to own the design, testing, and delivery of flight RF software systems for space missions anywhere from low earth orbit to mars.ResponsibilitiesWork with a cross-disciplinary team to define and implement RF software communications requirements on a mission-by-mission basis, implement RF software architectures, and bring up RF systemsDevelopment of algorithms for RF digital signal processing and calibrationDesign and optimization of RF system control algorithms to improve performance and reliabilityWork with ground software teams to develop and test satellite to ground data pipelinesMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field1+ years of experience in developing software for wireless systems in critical applications1+ years writing embedded C/C++ codePreferred Skills and ExperienceXilinx UltraScale+ board bring up and development experienceExperience implementing baseband software for systems using PSK, GFSK, or APSKExperience with common RF protocols such as DVB-S2, and CCSDSExperience writing software or firmware for a space environment (space link budgets, ground station integration, etc.)Experience with GNU radio flowgraph development and troubleshootingExperience in a startup or agile development environmentAdditional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
