XTG projects include immersive and experiential technologies, medical simulation, VR/AR, and Enterprise Broadcast. This role will support and lead teams handling non-conventional applications of AV technologies in close partnership with creative agencies, content houses, fabricators, lighting designers and others. The Engineering (Creative) Manager is responsible for pre-sales creative engineering resources in support of global delivering regions.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead an agile and responsive team responsible for any and all pre-sales creative design inquiries with a "How Can it be Done?" mentalityDevelops and maintains a culture of performance management and accountability with a drive for getting the best result out of every projectEnsures adherence to pre-sales creative vision from internal and external stakeholdersManage and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team membersPartners with Production Engineering Manager and Design Engineering Manager for consistent, non-siloed outcomes and cross-team collaborationMentors and is engaged in the personal development of the Technologist team to ensure ongoing growth of technical organizational and management skills.Regularly communicates by using (but not limited to) daily huddles with the Technologist team to ensure consistency and to ensure timely and accurate completion of engineering tasksLeads the Technologist team with a positive attitude that is in alignment with teamwork mission and vision and values of the XTG organizationPlans and implements engineering programs including defining project philosophy, activities milestones, and staff requirements in accordance with project requirementsAssist in establishing departmental goals objectives and operating proceduresFrequent spot checks of teams work to ensure accuracy and adherence to all company standardsSchedule and run lessons-learned meetings as necessaryReview pre-construction design and documentationAssist with technical design pricing as neededCustomer liaison for engineering inquiresMeet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products in partnership with other XTG stakeholdersPre sales project consultationReview project designs created by internal and external resourcesReview hour estimation for design work based on needs analysis scope of work and bid requirementsIdentify special requirements for project including but not limited to: test equipment, specialized tools, rigging support, contracted technical specialistsResearch and identify technical enablement partners and specialty subcontractors to help XTG-specific scope on a global basisProvide feedback to XTG leadership on process improvement opportunities and facilitate process improvementMonitor and ensure labor expenditures do not exceed department budgetManage internal activities that support client trainingRemain abreast of advances in XTG-related technology solutions and be able to identify areas of use in the organizationCreate and maintain technical documentation in accordance with company guidelinesContribute to improving process workflows and maintaining system administrationMaintain scheduling of resources for the departmentTravel to various job sites requiredOther duties assigned as neededMust-HavesWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Previous experience leading a technical operations or design engineering group Previous design experience in creative AV applications for immersive, experiential, simulation or themed entertainment projects Ability to read, understand and augment AV infrastructure plans and architectural coordination drawings Ability to read, understand and augment AV signal flow diagrams Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam or other tools for design coordination Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner Proven business writing skills Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards travel internationally is required Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred Past performance in immersive, experiential or broadcast job role preferred Minimum Seven years of AV experience is preferred A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE Medical benefits, including vision and dental Paid holidays, sick days, and personal days Enjoyable and dynamic company culture Training and professional development opportunities More About UsAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
