Position OverviewThe Engine Response Technician is responsible for rapid response repair and correction of engine hardware discrepancies identified during disassembly, inspection, and build. This role specializes in stud repair and replacement, threaded insert installation, nut plate installation, minor component repairs, and coordination of outside vendor repairs to prevent production delays.The position plays a critical role in maintaining engine build flow, reducing turnaround time, and controlling repair costs.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesRapid Response Hardware Repair Remove and replace damaged or incorrect studs.Install threaded inserts (Heli-Coil, Keensert, etc.) per OEM specifications.Drill, tap, and restore damaged threaded holes.Install nut plates and approved fastening systems.Perform minor non-structural repairs in accordance with CMM/SRM limits.Repair stripped threads and hardware attachment points.Ensure proper torque application and hardware installation per specifications.Production SupportRespond quickly to discrepancies identified during inspection or build.Minimize engine build stoppages due to hardware issues.Work closely with inspection, assembly, and quality departments.Support on-time engine delivery schedules.Outside Repair ManagementIdentify parts requiring outside repair services.Coordinate shipment and tracking of components sent to vendors.Monitor turnaround times to avoid production delays.Review returned documentation for compliance and completeness.Communicate repair status to Production Control and Management.Compliance & DocumentationInterpret CMMs, service bulletins, and engineering drawings.Perform repairs in compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station requirements.Accurately document all work performed in work orders and repair records.Maintain tool control and use calibrated equipmentQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years aviation engine shop or maintenance experience preferred.Machinist or tool-making experience strongly preferred.Experience operating drill presses, taps, reamers, and precision measuring instruments.Experience with threaded insert systems and aviation hardware repair.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.Familiarity with business jet engines (TFE731, HTF7000, CFE738 preferred).Knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station procedures preferred.Key CompetenciesStrong mechanical aptitudePrecision drilling and thread repair expertiseHigh sense of urgencyStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently under schedule pressureEffective communication skillsPerformance ImpactThis Role Directly SupportsReduced engine turnaround time (TAT)Decreased outside repair costsImproved first-pass yieldIncreased shop profitabilityBenefitsOutstanding Medical and Dental BenefitsCompany funded Health Reimbursement AccountBasic Employee Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment InsuranceLong-Term and Short-Term DisabilityVacation and Sick TimePaid HolidaysWhy TESJoin a leading company in the global Business Aviation industryBe part of a team that values innovation, excellence, and community contributionCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and developmentEngage in meaningful work that makes a difference in the aviation sector and beyondTES is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, pregnancy, age, national or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, transgender status, genetic information, status as a protected veteran, and basis of disability status or any other federal, state, or local protected class.Previous: Director of QualityNext: Industrial Engineering Intern
