Controller

We are seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Controller to serve as a key financial leader within a growing manufacturing organization. This role is a unique blend of Plant Controller and Corporate Controller responsibilities — ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply connected to operations while also driving high-level financial reporting, forecasting, and business strategy.The Controller will partner closely with plant leadership, executive management, and cross-functional teams to improve profitability, strengthen reporting, and support strategic decision-making across the organization. This individual must be equally comfortable on the manufacturing floor analyzing operational drivers as they are in the boardroom presenting financial results and recommendations.Controller Key ResponsibilitiesOwn monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesLead consolidated financial reporting and analysis for the organizationPartner with operations leadership to drive plant performance, cost control, and profitability initiativesAnalyze manufacturing variances including labor, material usage, PPV, absorption, scrap, and inventory trendsMaintain and improve standard costing methodologies and inventory controlsLead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processesDevelop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting toolsProvide actionable financial insights to support pricing, quoting, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiativesEvaluate ROI on operational projects, automation opportunities, and process improvementsEnsure accuracy of inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processesOversee internal controls, compliance, and audit coordinationMentor and develop accounting and finance staffAct as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while remaining highly engaged in day-to-day operationsFor immediate consideration call Jimmy Tunney at 517-657-8054.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA and/or CMA preferred5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience within manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and manufacturing operationsExperience in both plant-level finance and corporate financial reporting strongly preferredProven ability to analyze data and translate findings into operational improvementsComfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environmentsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
