Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.QualificationsEducation/CertificationBachelor's Degree from an accredited universityValid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned or be eligible for certification relating relevant clusters and courses under Career & Technical EducationDemonstrated proficiency in subject area curriculumAbility to effectively work with a diverse group of studentsSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of career and technical education subject assignedGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instruction and assigned CTE areaAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorAbility to oversee student field experiences in career area assignedStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperienceStudent teaching, approved internship or 3 years of wage earning experience in the area of certificationMajor Responsibilities and DutiesInstructional StrategiesOversee career and technology training program in subject areaDevelop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulationsConduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activitiesWork cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP)Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirementsPlan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteers(s) and oversee completionStudent Growth and DevelopmentConduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testingAssume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principalPresent a positive role model for students; support mission of school districtClassroom Management and OrganizationCreate in-person and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of studentsManage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbookTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesAssist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materialsCompile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents requiredCommunicationBe available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.Professional Growth/Development and OtherParticipate in staff development activities to improve job-related skillsComply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachersAttend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as requiredComply with federal, state, and local regulations related to the occupational area assignedFollow district safety protocols and emergency proceduresModel behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsiblePerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrators that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the positionSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect the work of assigned instructional aide(s)WORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsThe working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
