Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant Job Summary: Prepares tax returns and offers guidance for optimum financial outcome for the client. Provides help as needed on client projects with other staff in office. Provides help and guidance to office staff with PCMars, IRS notices and other daily activities. Provides input and feedback relating to possible efficiencies and ways to improve productivity in office. Duties: Prepares tax returns as identified. Leads eBook processing. Leads depreciation processing. Performs oversight of paycheck calculations, payroll deposits and reporting activities for Check Accounting Services to cooperators. Performs oversight of PCMars input. Assists office with Check-Ins and Tax Appointments. Holds primary responsibility for selected cooperators. Conducts internal analysis of Office budget, billing, and operations. Reviews and ensures installation and updates of software for the office, as needed. Participates in Office budgeting. Completes assigned activities related to Grant Work and other special projects, as assigned. Submits monthly Activity Reports to RVP. Other duties as assigned. Collaboration: Provides help as needed on client projects for other staff in office. Provides help and guidance to office staff with PCMars, IRS notices and other daily activities. Provides input and feedback relating to possible efficiencies and ways to improve productivity in office. Assist other FBFM staff if vacancies require cross office coverage. Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Accounting, business or related field. Agriculture/Farming background or a working knowledge of farm operations, the ag industry, and accounting/finance principles. Obtain PTIN upon hire. Obtain Enrolled Agent or CPA certification within 5 years of employment. The ability to travel throughout the region. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential.
