Be part of a team that values your skills and supports your professional journey - apply today and help shape the future physical therapy!RequirementsQualifications and ExperienceGraduate of a CAPTE-accredited PTA programLicensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in North CarolinaComfortable using email and interacting with Internet applicationsKnowledge of practice management and word processing softwareCurrent CPR CertificationExcellent documentation and communication skillsResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the followingMeasure the patient's motor functionRecord strength and muscle performanceAssist physical therapists in developing treatment plansObserve patients and write progress reportsEvaluate the capability of patients to function independentlyAssist patients in carrying out specific exercisesTreat patients with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massageHelp patients with equipment and devices, like walkersUse and care for braces or prostheses (artificial body parts)Use electrical stimulation and ultrasoundEducate patients on how to exercise properly to strengthen muscle and improve mobilityTeach the patients and their family members what to do at home after treatmentEnsures timely communication of patient needs, concerns to physical therapist for appropriate change in the patients plan of careMaintains compliance with infection control policies and proceduresPerforms patient education when appropriate including oral and written education related to diagnosis, procedures, and/or medicationsEnsures all documentation accurately reflects the patient encounter and plan of careOtherFollows all applicable department and practice policies and proceduresMaintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practiceMaintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functionsComputer input of patient informationParticipates in mandatory staff functions as directed by manager/team leadPerforms all other tasks and projects delegated or assigned by managerMaintains a pleasant and cooperative demeanor while performing all dutiesMaintains compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain current certifications, licensure, etc.Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.From the mountains to the coast, EmergeOrtho is North Carolina's premier provider, recognized for offering world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care serving patients with 60 locations in 28 counties.
