Job Description****Please note: this position requires new hires to attend our two week Academy training out of state. Expenses are covered by the company and it is paid training.**** Clean Harbors in Avon, NY is seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to provide comprehensive environmental services including collection and disposal of damaged, discarded, or recalled products; recycling of light bulbs, oil, oil filters, engine fluids and other materials; and on-site cleanup activities. Why work for Clean Harbors?Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5!Focus on maintaining sustainability and cleaning the EarthCompetitive Starting Pay; $26.00-$27.00 hourly DOEComprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment including 401K with Company matchOwn part of the company with our Employee Stock Purchase PlanOpportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your careerCompany paid training and tuition reimbursementRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n Key Responsibilities:\n\n\nEnsure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner\nPick up, pack and transport damaged and discarded goods management, and recalled products\nLoad, pack and segregate materials and waste products\nDriving a Box Truck, visiting retail customer sites\nSegregating, packing and loading materials and waste products (inventory that is damaged or expired) for safe transportation\nInteracting with customers at each stop\nPrepare DOT shipping documents\nUse of a laptop, printer, handheld, and iPhone to complete tasks\nConduct projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State and local regulations and health and safety plans as well as Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., policies and procedures\nExecutes Jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations including fortune 500 companies\nResponsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies\nConducts projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State, and local regulations and health and safety plans\nUnderstand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements\nEnsures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance our company's policies and procedure\nFollow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules\nSafely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements\nSafely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures\nObserve all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines\nPerform other duties as assigned\n \nQUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:Valid CDL Class BStrong customer service skillsThe ability to use a laptop, handheld, printer, and iPhone are requiredObtain a with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 30 days of hirePerform physical functions per job requirementsSuccessfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by positionPer OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
