Aerospace Quality Assurance Specialist (3+ years req)

Job Summary: Great River Technology is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Aerospace Quality Assurance Specialist to support our production operations and quality management systems (QMS). This role will focus on ensuring product and process quality during all stages of manufacturing, with an emphasis on compliance with aerospace standards, continuous improvement, and supporting production teams in meeting strict avionics quality requirements. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-process inspections and final product verifications to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Partner closely with production teams to provide real-time quality oversight and guidance on the shop floor. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of QMS procedures related to production activities. Support and participate in internal audits (if required) to maintain AS9100D compliance. Identify, document, and resolve quality issues; track nonconformances and drive corrective and preventive actions with root cause analysis. Monitor and report on production quality performance metrics, identifying trends and supporting improvement initiatives. Lead and participate in 5(S) inspections to ensure workplace organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Promote and enforce a FOD (Foreign Object Debris) free environment across all production areas. Assist in supplier audits and quality assessments, particularly for production-related materials and components. Support compliance with U.S. export regulations (EAR) and environmental standards (REACH, RoHS, etc.) for production materials and products. Provide training and coaching to production staff on quality requirements, standards, and best practices. Manage customer quality compliance requests as they relate to production. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in aerospace or avionics manufacturing. Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D standards. Hands-on experience with production inspections, process audits, and corrective action management. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with production and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Certifications such as AS9100D Requirements, Internal Auditor Training, IPC-A-610, or similar are a plus.
