Send resumes to: Nicole@abundantjobs.com.Position Summary: The Structural Welding QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all welded components and assemblies used in heat exchanger manufacturing meet applicable code requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. This role involves in-process and final inspection of structural welds, verification of welding procedures, and documentation review to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME and AWS.Perform visual and dimensional inspections of structural welds and fabricated components used in heat exchanger assembliesVerify compliance with applicable codes and standards including ASME Section VIII, AWS D1.1, and project-specific requirementsReview and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and PQR (Procedure Qualification Records)Ensure welders are qualified and operating within approved proceduresConduct in-process inspections during fit-up, welding, and post-weld activitiesCoordinate and verify non-destructive testing (NDT) activities such as UT, RT, MT, and PTIdentify and document non-conformances; support root cause analysis and corrective actionsMaintain accurate inspection records, reports, and traceability documentationInterface with production, engineering, and third-party inspectors or clients as neededEnsure compliance with company safety policies and quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar)Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferredMinimum 3–5 years of welding inspection experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or structural steel preferred)Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW)Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding symbolsWorking knowledge of ASME and AWS codes and standardsExperience with NDT methods and coordinationPreferred Certifications:AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Familiarity with ASNT Level II certification in one or more NDT methodsKnowledge of ASME Section IX (Welding Qualifications)
