Rack Deployment LeadLocation: Onsite in Abilene or Shackelford, TexasPosition OverviewBrooksource is seeking an experienced Rack Deployment Lead to oversee building- and campus-level rack deployment for large-scale data center projects. This person will manage deployment readiness, installation execution, schedule coordination, energization preparation, issue resolution, and performance reporting for assigned buildings.This is a hands-on, execution-focused leadership role—not a purely administrative project management position. You will translate deployment standards, schedules, and field requirements into clear action plans that enable safe, predictable installation, energization, and operational handoff.The ideal candidate has experience leading technical deployments in data centers, critical facilities, construction, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, or similarly complex environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead rack deployment activities from initial planning through installation, validation, energization preparation, and operational handoff.Own building-level deployment schedules, critical-path milestones, readiness requirements, blocker logs, action items, and escalation plans.Coordinate deployment sequencing with construction completion, commissioning milestones, power and cooling readiness, access controls, logistics, network deployment, and operational requirements.Confirm that deployment prerequisites are met, including space readiness, cabinet layouts, pathway availability, materials, tooling, site access, safety requirements, and network readiness.Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to support rack staging, placement, grounding, labeling, inspection, cabling readiness, and energization preparation.Lead daily and weekly deployment meetings to keep field teams, vendors, and project partners aligned with key milestones.Serve as the primary point of contact for deployment status, risks, blockers, and escalations across assigned buildings.Partner with Construction, Facilities Operations, Engineering, Commissioning, Network, Compute, Logistics, Security, and vendor teams.Ensure all deployment work complies with site safety procedures, security requirements, change-management processes, maintenance windows, and active data center constraints.Track and report KPIs such as schedule adherence, deployment velocity, installation quality, first-pass success, rework, blocker aging, and handoff readiness.Identify recurring process gaps and help improve deployment playbooks, readiness checklists, reporting dashboards, and turnover procedures.Required Qualifications4+ years of experience in rack deployment, data center deployment, infrastructure delivery, technical field installation, construction coordination, critical facilities operations, logistics execution, or a similarly complex technical environment.Experience supporting rack, server, network, cabling, power, or other technical installation activities.Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, deployment readiness, critical-path milestones, risks, issues, and cross-functional dependencies.Strong understanding of data center deployment requirements, including construction completion, commissioning, power and cooling readiness, site access, security, materials, logistics, and operational handoff.Experience maintaining deployment schedules, readiness trackers, issue logs, risk registers, action trackers, or KPI reports.Ability to influence internal teams, field partners, and vendors without direct authority.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation, action tracking, executive status reporting, and concise escalation.Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments where construction, commissioning, logistics, network, and operational activities are happening simultaneously.Willingness and ability to work onsite in Abilene or Shackelford, Texas.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure, colocation facilities, high-density compute environments, telecommunications, or other mission-critical infrastructure.Familiarity with rack installation, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, rack power, grounding, labeling, cabinet placement, logistics staging, and energization readiness.Working knowledge of data center power and cooling systems, BMS/EPMS, physical security, change management, maintenance windows, and operational safety procedures.Experience with tools such as Smartsheet, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, CMMS, DCIM, asset management platforms, or inventory systems.Experience developing deployment playbooks, readiness checklists, KPI dashboards, escalation processes, or turnover documentation.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent technical or mission-critical experience will also be considered.PMP, CAPM, Lean, Six Sigma, OSHA, construction management, data center operations, or network infrastructure certification is a plus.Work EnvironmentThis position requires regular onsite work within data center campuses, construction areas, commissioning environments, and active operational facilities. Responsibilities may involve walking throughout large facilities, standing for extended periods, using stairs, entering white-space and infrastructure areas, and following all required PPE, safety, security, and access-control procedures.Occasional travel or temporary assignment to another project site may be required to support critical milestones, escalations, or deployment priorities.
