Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic and structured cabling systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on field work, solving problems on-site, and working with advanced telecommunications technology. What You’ll Do Install, terminate, and maintain fiber optic cabling and Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a structured cabling systems. Perform fiber splicing (fusion & mechanical), testing, and certification of cable runs. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty cables, connectors, and network components. Build and install racks, patch panels, cable trays, and network closets. Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and cable management on all projects. Work on commercial, industrial, and enterprise-level network infrastructure installations. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for structured cabling layouts. What We’re Looking For Experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and structured cabling systems. Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, and low-voltage cabling best practices. Proficiency with OTDR testing, light source & power meter testing, and cable certification tools. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fiber optic splicing equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the field. Certifications such as BICSI, FOA, CompTIA Network+, or Fiber Optic Technician (preferred but not required).
