Role Description This is a full-time Backend Developer role, requiring a mix of on-site work at our New York, NY location and remote work as part of a hybrid model. The Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining robust back-end systems. This includes database management, API development, performance optimization, and integration with front-end systems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency in all software solutions. Qualifications Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or RubyStrong experience with database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDBKnowledge of API design and development, including RESTful or GraphQL APIsFamiliarity with cloud services and infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience in performance optimization, debugging, and ensuring system securitySolid understanding of software version control systems like GitStrong communication and collaboration skills for working in a cross-functional teamBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Previous experience in developing scalable and reliable backend systems is a plusFamiliarity with sustainability-focused or energy-related projects is advantageous
