This rewarding opportunity will help you gain new skills as you work nose-to-tail on our aircraft, belong to a world-class family of fellow mechanics, and have a crucial impact on the entire SkyWest operation.Primary Job DutiesReports to Manager of Heavy Maintenance and Supervisor Heavy MaintenanceMust reside proximate to the heavy maintenance provider facilityActs as liaison between the Heavy Maintenance Provider and:Manager of Heavy Maintenance Contracts regarding aircraftManager of Heavy MaintenanceAssigned Manager of Quality ControlSenior Manager of Quality ControlManager of Quality AssuranceManager of ReliabilityEnsures the inspection and repair of SkyWest aircraft are conducted with the highest possible quality.Verifies that all paperwork submitted to the SGU records department concerning the aircraft is complete, accurate, free of omissions, and properly identified.Oversee the progress and quality of the heavy maintenance project.Monitor and inspect work performed during the heavy maintenance project.Assists in the interpretation and implementation of SkyWest standard practices.Ensures completion of all documentation required by SkyWest.Reviews paperwork regularly to confirm discrepancies and corrective actions are properly documented.Performs Airworthiness Release Authorization and RII functions for completed aircraft.Assists in the training of heavy maintenance personnel.Supports receiving inspection of parts provisioning.Minimum RequirementsMust hold the following:Must hold a valid A&P Certificate 14 CFR 121.378Level III Mechanic AuthorizationRII authorization (preferred)Receiving Authorization (preferred)Airworthiness Release Authorization (preferred)Unrestricted driver's licensePreferred experience in supervision of personnelMust be self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to motivate othersMust be familiar with SkyWest Airlines maintenance standard practice policy and proceduresExtensive SkyWest MIP knowledgeExperience with SkyTrackMust be familiar with requirement of SP 7650, Maintenance Recording regarding maintenance records of aircraft, engines, propellers, appliances and other components and/or maintenance functions that are required by applicable FAR’sHave good communication skills both written and verbalPhysical And Other RequirementsAble to comfortably lift 75 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodationThis is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive positionTo apply, please complete the on-line application (qualified applicants will be contacted).This job posting may have an additional video interview requirement.
