Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs reactive and preventive maintenance on a wide range of production machinery in a food, pharmaceutical, or liquid packaging environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, supporting facility upkeep, and contributing to ongoing automation and equipment upgrades. 2nd shift 2:00pm-10:30pm, plus OTResponsibilitiesPerform all reactive and preventive maintenance on production machinery, including mixers, blenders, packaging machines, filling machines, and conveyors.Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.Work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volts, following all safety procedures and best practices.Use a volt meter, blueprints, and electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.Carry out welding and basic fabrication tasks when needed to repair or modify equipment and structures.Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in production machinery.Support general facilities maintenance as needed to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.Document maintenance activities as required and communicate equipment status and repair needs to relevant stakeholders.Collaborate with other technicians, machine operators, and production staff to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.Assist with maintenance and support of new or upgraded automated equipment as the facility continues to modernize.Participate in shift handovers by sharing information on ongoing issues, completed repairs, and pending work.Work overtime and weekends as needed to support production demands, especially during peak seasons.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Proven experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machinery.Ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volts.Proficiency in using a volt meter for electrical diagnostics.Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.Hands-on experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Experience working in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, or liquid packaging environments.Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a variety of production machines, including mixers, blenders, packaging, filling equipment, and conveyors.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.Ownership of basic tools required to perform maintenance technician duties.Additional Skills & QualificationsPLC experience, including basic troubleshooting or interaction with automated control systems.Welding and fabrication skills for equipment repair and modification.Experience working in a clean, organized, and safety-focused production facility.Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team with other technicians, operators, and laborers.Strong communication skills to clearly report issues, progress, and maintenance needs.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, equipment upgrades, and increased automation.Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak production periods.Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Manteno, IL.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $73320.00/yr.
