The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation, intervention, consultation, and support services to students with identified needs and collaborate with staff, families, and support personnel to enhance student achievement and independence.QUALIFICATIONSValid Michigan Occupational Therapist license and registrationKnowledge of occupational therapy assessment tools, intervention techniques, and best practices within a school settingUnderstanding of special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirementsAbility to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and outside agenciesStrong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skillsAbility to maintain accurate records and prepare reports in a timely mannerESSENTIAL DUTIESConduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for referred studentsDevelop and implement individualized therapy goals and intervention plansProvide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPsPrepare written evaluation reports and maintain required documentationCollaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers regarding student needs and progressRecommend adaptive equipment, accommodations, and strategies to support student participation and independenceAttend and participate in METs, IEP meetings, child study meetings, and staff meetings, as requestedMonitor student progress and adjust interventions as appropriateMaintain current knowledge of occupational therapy practices, research, and educational requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Specialized Student ServicesRESPONSIBILITIESSupport students in developing fine motor, sensory, self-help, and functional skills related to school performanceMaintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progressConsult with staff regarding classroom modifications and intervention strategiesMaintain therapy schedules and service logsEnsure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirementsParticipate in professional development opportunities and educational committeesBENEFITSCompetitive salaryComprehensive health benefitsProfessional development opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentMETHOD OF APPLICATIONComplete application process with Oakland Human Resources Consortium (OHRC)Upload letter of interest, current resume, and letters of recommendationAttachment(s):Job Description
