Department: Registrar Salary: $ 12.00 per hourDescription:The Texas Work Study Registrar's Office serves as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the department.Duties:Greets students, visitors, and guests at the front counter.Answers department phone calls, takes accurate messages, and provides general informationResponds to student inquiries regarding academic and student recordsEnters information into applicable databasesAssists in collecting forms and supporting documentation from studentsPerforms clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, filing, printing, auditing, and logging front counter interactionsServes as liaison between students and staffAssists the office staff as neededParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activitiesRuns errands to various departments and locations on campusPerforms opening and/or closing proceduresAvailable to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:45 AM and 6:00 PMPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, and staffProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfort with digital tools and platforms is a plusReliable, punctual, and organized with strong attention to detailComfortable learning new tasks and taking initiativePositive Attitude and Professional ExperiencePerforms opening and closing procedures and follows all UHD emergency proceduresThis position requires the highest level of confidentiality and discretion. The individual is expected to protect and handle all sensitive information, including enrollment records, student information, and official documents, with the utmost care. Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.Qualifications:Must be a current UHD studentAbility to work 20 hours per weekMust be awarded Texas Work-Study from the Office of Scholarships and Financial AidMust have a GPA of 2.0 or higherAll positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.The University of Houston System and its universities are Equal Opportunity Institutions.
