Senior Accounts Payable Specialist - 100% Remote Contract - Multi-Billion Global Fintech Leader
Our client is a $5B global financial services leader that blends cutting-edge technology with a personal touch to deliver innovative financial solutions worldwide.They’re seeking a driven, detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for a 6-month remote project with the potential for extension. In this role, you’ll take ownership of ensuring seamless, on-time payments to valued partners—keeping operations running smoothly and relationships strong.This position plays a critical role in supporting premium payables within the insurance sector, including accurate processing of premium-related disbursements to carriers and brokers, reconciling premium balances, and ensuring compliance with policy terms, agency agreements, and regulatory requirements.We're looking for an experienced AP professional who thrives in a fast-paced enterprise environment, enjoys solving problems, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a forward-thinking organization built on innovation, integrity, and teamwork. Responsibilities:• Ensure all client, broker, and insurance premium payables are completed on time and handled with precision and care • Process and reconcile premium payables, including agency bill and direct bill transactions, ensuring alignment with carrier statements and internal records • Reconcile statements and proactively resolve outstanding payment discrepancies, including premium variances and unapplied cash • Monitor and maintain accurate premium payable balances, ensuring timely settlement with carriers and compliance with contractual terms • Ability to evaluate situations and determine when items should be escalated to management • Regularly seeks feedback from others, with the ability to apply it to current and future tasks • Consistently meets daily and weekly metrics • Collaborate with broker partners, carriers, and internal departments to address payment-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies • Identify opportunities to streamline payment processes and improve efficiency, particularly within premium payable workflows • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices, including those related to insurance premium handling and fiduciary responsibilities, to ensure compliance • Applies and upholds company GAAP accounting principles and best practices Qualifications:• Minimum of 7 years’ general accounting experience required; High School Diploma or equivalent • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices• Experience with insurance premium payables, broker/carrier settlements, and agency bill vs. direct bill processes strongly preferred • Experience with Epicor ERP or insurance agency management systems and related processes preferred • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy • Shows initiative to complete work without the prompting of others • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment within a large enterprise organization
