This individual will be responsible for daily production duties on an assigned area of the packaging line; they are the owners of their machine centers, identifying potential risks and ensuring product flows smoothly throughout their area of the line. This role is a key part in achieving City’s objective of producing high quality products timely to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.Selected candidate must be willing to work any and all shifts, weekends and holidays when necessary to cover the needs of the business. Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for start-up, shut down, product changeovers, and sanitation of assigned equipment Operates equipment during production including monitoring of processes and troubleshooting to ensure target line efficiencies are attainedPerforms minor preventative and corrective maintenance, such as CIL (clean, inspect, lubricate) and CL (centerline) inspectionsUses basic mechanical and technical skills to perform the required machine adjustments and maintenance to ensure the equipment is running efficiently and producing quality productPerforms visual inspections and documentation of the production process and finished product to ensure all quality requirements are metPerforms job assignments safely at all times by using required PPE (personal protective equipment) and observing all safety procedures and policies set forth by CityReads and interprets packaging schedule, job procedures, and work instructionsMaintain a high standard of personal hygiene, health standard, and sanitation as mandated by FDA regulations, Department of Agriculture and other regulatory agencies – municipal, state and federalRecords inventories metrics and other related line metrics to ensure appropriate shift schedule transitionQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredProficient in basic computer skills and internet navigationAbility to work collaboratively with a large team to achieve agreed upon metricsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience in manufacturing environment, preferredKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, preferred
