Application Systems Python Developer

DataStaff, Inc. is in immediate need of an Application Systems Python Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC*This position is hybrid.Job Description:Our client is seeking a skilled Application Systems Python Developer to design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, integrations, and migration processes across enterprise systems. This role plays a key part in moving data between legacy and modern platforms, ensuring data quality, and enabling analytics and automation through Python and Power BI.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows using PythonDesign, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analyticsCreate interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BIPerform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading between databases, APIs, and enterprise systemsOptimize data processes for speed, reliability, and scalabilityWork with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reportingIntegrate data from multiple sources, including cloud apps, on-premises systems, and flat filesCollaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and translate them into technical solutionsAnalyze data quality issues, reconcile datasets, and implement best practices for data integrityImplement automation for recurring data tasks and reporting workflowsMaintain documentation for data processes, source mappings, and migration stepsParticipate in architecture, design, and planning sessions for data modernization projectsMust have strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detailRequired Skills:7 Years - Strong hands-on experience with Python5 Years - Proficiency with Power BI7 Years - Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres)7 Years - Senior level experience writing optimized SQL queries and analyzing existing SQL queries for performance improvements5 Years - Solid understanding of SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices7 Years - Experience designing and executing data migration or data conversion projects7 Years - Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirementsDesired Skills:5 Years - Familiarity with legacy system migration projects5 Years - Experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives5 Years - Experience with Java development3 Years - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)3 Years - Knowledge of Power BI administration, workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies3 Years - Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines3 Years - Experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenanceThis position is available as a corp-to-corp or W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
