Job Description
The Security, Health and Safety Manager – CHQ (Corporate) is the key point of contact for all security-related and health and safety issues at Expeditors Corporate Headquarters locations in the Seattle area. They report directly to the VP, Security, Health, and Safety. Expeditors operates multiple facilities in the Seattle area. The Security, Health, and Safety Manager – CHQ is expected to maintain a high state of operational security at all facilities. Lead a cross-functional team to complete Risk Assessments. Will interact with building management and guard service providers. Responsible for implementation and development of new security controls as well as making sure existing systems are maintained. The position interacts with the Global Security, Health, and Safety Team in support of Expeditors Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification and the other Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programs that Expeditors has been certified in
Qualifications
Experience and Education:
An associate or bachelor’s degree in any technical field preferred
Knowledge of risk management principles, Compliance techniques, as well as regulatory knowledge in OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards is preferred
Basic knowledge of safety management systems (ISO, OHSAS, etc.)
Solid knowledge of security practices, standards, and systems (CCTV, Alarm systems)
Ability to prioritize daily workload with limited supervision
Ability to conduct Risk Assessments for Security and Safety purposes. ’
Ability to present to leadership
Strong presentation skills
Facilitation of in-person and remote training
Ability to manage third-party service providers and vendors
Strong written & verbal communication skills; computer skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint)
Proven project management skills
Background in regulatory compliance; expertise in security, safety, and risk management
Strong proven problem solving, analytical and reporting skills.
Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multi-task effectively.
A basic understanding of logistics
Incident investigation knowledge and expertise
Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation for business
Additional Information
This position is based at CHQ.
This position can be based at one of the sites in the Seattle Area. Initial training would be based in the Bellevue location. A candidate would be expected to visit all Expeditors Corporate locations periodically.
Expected Salary: $75,000 to $100,000
