Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.Role SummaryJob Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Revenue Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end revenue accounting for global sales of capital equipment, services, upgrades, and spares. This role owns revenue journal entries, key monthly reconciliations, and select external reporting disclosures, while also driving improvements to manual revenue processes. The position requires strong ASC 606 judgment, hands‑on execution, and the ability to operate in a close‑intensive public company environment.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Recognition & ExecutionPerform detailed revenue recognition analysis under ASC 606 for:Tool sales, services, upgrades, and spare partsComplex and non‑standard customer arrangementsOwn revenue journal entries and supporting schedules as part of the monthly closeEvaluate contract terms, delivery, installation, and acceptance provisions to determine timing of revenue recognitionServe as a key point of contact for revenue questions from Sales, Sales Operations FP&A and LegalMonthly Close & ReconciliationsOwn and execute monthly revenue reconciliations across order systems, sub-ledgers, and the general ledgerInvestigate and resolve reconciling items with a focus on root cause and repeatabilityImprove close efficiency, accuracy, and documentation quality in a largely manual environmentProcess Improvement & TransformationIdentify and implement improvements to manual revenue processes and controlsDevelop scalable procedures, templates, and documentation to support future-state processesConsider AI opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risks of errorsPartner with systems and operations teams to enhance data quality and reporting, without reliance on major system implementationsSupport SOX controls and internal control improvements related to revenueExternal Reporting & Audit SupportPrepare and support select revenue-related disclosures for Forms 10‑Q and 10‑KProvide audit support, including memos, schedules, and walkthroughs related to revenueEnsure revenue accounting positions are well-documented and audit-readyFP&A & Cross‑Functional CoordinationCoordinate with FP&A on revenue timing, actuals vs. forecast variances, and revenue driversProvide clear explanations of revenue trends and timing differencesSupport management reporting and ad hoc revenue analyses, as neededQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance4–7 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principlesExperience owning revenue journal entries and reconciliations in a close environmentPublic company experience or strong exposure to external reporting requirementsAbility to work independently, manage deadlines, and exercise sound accounting judgmentPreferredCPABig 4 and/or public company experienceSemiconductor, manufacturing, or capital equipment industry backgroundExperience in manual or evolving revenue environmentsERP experience (Oracle) and comfort working with large data setsSuccess ProfileHands‑on, execution‑oriented revenue professionalStrong attention to detail with a process‑improvement mindsetAble to translate technical accounting guidance into practical, operational solutionsComfortable balancing close responsibilities with transformation initiativesWhy Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
