Maintain all tooling, clamping, hardware, and software for optimal processes. Perform part inspections as required using tooling including but not limited to calipers, angle gauges, thread gauges, plug gauges. Follow production schedules. Ready parts for final or next operations by inspecting, cleaning, deburring, or other actions as needed. Program parts into the equipment, review, and adjust as needed to produce a part that meets dimensional and quality requirements. Use of lifting devices to move product. Maintain a clean and organized workplace and perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance duties as needed. Develop continuous improvement of processes through hardware, software, or general process improvements. Other duties as assigned.Quality Control, Inspection, and Safety: Inspect sub-components and assembled products for any defects or non-compliance to prints. Document as required per the quality system. Visually inspect all products for defects per specifications. Ensure that safety protocols are followed while in the facility. Report all safety concerns to supervision immediately.Process Improvement: Provide input, collaborate with Harden team members, and implement process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Requirements:To excel in this role, a CNC Operator should have the following qualifications:U.S. Citizen or Green Card HolderEducation: High school diploma or equivalent qualificationExperience: At least 2 years of experience working with CNC equipmentTechnical Skills:Solid understanding of proper CNC and machining procedures, including the use of mills, drills, taps, cut-offs, feeds and speeds, lubrication rates, and other machinery functionsProgramming with Conversational instead of traditional G-code and M-codeWork with different materials, thicknesses, and part geometryThe proper use of hand toolsAbility to read and interpret the product prints to develop a machining process with the correct tooling and machine parametersKnowledge of strapping and rigging for the use of overhead cranesAbility to understand dimensions in both Metric and Imperial systemsAbility to understand and convert dimensions between decimals and fractionsUnderstanding tolerancing, inspection procedures, and the proper use of calibrated quality toolingSafety Awareness:Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulationsAbility to stand / walk / work on a concrete floor for 10 hours per dayGood physical stamina (lifting heavy equipment) and ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to operate machinery in a safe and controlled mannerOwnership of safety practicesCompensation and Benefits:Competitive compensationBlue Cross health and dental group insurance benefits, vision insuranceCompany-provided Life, AD&D, and Long-term Disability (LTD) benefitsCompany-paid vacation and sick leave401k with company matchPhysical Environment:Functions in a live production environment much of the time. Work requires the ability to walk the production floor and other areas of the manufacturing facility; position requires good physical fitness and an understanding of appropriate lifting techniques and tool safety. May need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.
