Operations Manager General Admin

Overview In this role, you direct the location’s end-to-end operations for timely, cost-conscious materials flow across manufacturing, distribution and warehousing. You partner with department leads to train staff, manage budgets, and set strategies to optimize product flow and service to customers. You’ll monitor performance, tackle process and cost challenges, and coordinate staffing to maximize resource utilization. The role offers impact through cross-functional collaboration, process improvements, and safety-focused leadership. ResponsibilitiesOversee overall operations and facilities/equipment conditionManage daily delivery and warehousing operationstrain and develop operations personnelcontrol costs and meet profit targetsplan and prioritize operations for smooth product flowmonitor performance metrics (on-time deliveries, back orders, hours, shipments)resolve process, cost, order, maintenance, inventory, equipment, and system issuescoordinate staffing with Warehouse, Shipping, Yard, Office and Purchasingaddress team member issues and performancefacilitate cross-department communication on processes (production, sales, accounting, etc.)train drivers, yard personnel, and supervisorsevaluate vendors and update revisions as neededmonitor services and consider new options to stay competitiveparticipate in order acceptance decisionsimplement safe operating practices in compliance with DOT/OSHA and company policiesplan equipment and facility upgrades and maintenanceengage with professional groups and customer events Key requirementsBachelor’s degree with 4 years of related lumber/building materials experience or equivalentknowledge of building materials, procurement, inventory management, and people supervisionstrong customer service experience and good organizational skillsleadershipteamworkcommunicationknowledge of order processing/delivery systemsinventory managementvendor evaluations
