Support goal of achieving zero accidentsPromote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE neededObtain safety training as expected by all company personnel and as appropriate for current management level. Ensure all employees meet or exceed their required safety training (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.)Partners with Safety dept. to investigate all accidents / “near misses” promptly and thoroughly, to ensure the incidents are communicated across the organizationProfitabilityProductivity: Oversee constant process improvement in the area of production and efficiency in our field labor. Efficiently manage fleet operations, such as: rentals, new equipment purchases, managing repairs, and equipment utilization etc.Achieve minimum productivity requirements of 100% while striving for expected productivity requirements of 110%Growth: Prospect for leads continually through interaction on job sites through sub and customer interaction while executing current projectPlanning And MonitoringForecast what is to be done on a weekly basis, when, and by whom. Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximum efficiency. Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervisionShare manpower, resources, and tools with all projects, departments, and branches as neededAssist with developing the branch’s one and three-year plansAnticipate problems and take necessary corrective actionsEnsure that our public image is maintained with all elements including our vehicle fleet and all correspondenceExecute coordination of day-to-day department activities. Follow guidelines as established by Position Description AuthoritiesProvide leadership to take charge of challenging projects, encourage teamwork, and supply the energy and enthusiasm to achieve company goals and objectivesProblem SolvingTroubleshoot fleet problemsOperationsWork closely with Director of Operations and peers to develop and implement strategy for Fleet Operations in support of the overarching strategy at MP Systems.Lead a team of both union and non-union supervisors, administrators, tooling, road/ shop mechanics, logistic coordinators, fabricators, transporter drivers, yard management, and other duties as assigned.Oversee the acquisition and outfitting of new vehicles Ensure all direct reports comply with all MP System’s processes such as: purchasing, data entry into systems, POs, Capex, SOPs, etcMonitor fleet branding and processesAdminister fleet licensing and titling to ensure vehicles are registered annuallyAnnual review of vehicle replacements for Department budgetingRead industry publications to stay knowledgeable of new technologies and best practicesCommunication with drivers and managers (vehicle/driver compliance issues)Act as primary contact for fleet services maintenance vendorAct as the primary contact and coordinate annual compliance requirements for vehicle allowance programAttend seminars/conferences to network with other Fleet ProfessionalsAssist the Safety Group with driver trainingMaintain vehicle and equipment recordsMaintain up to date drivers listMaintain and monitor internal gas & maintenance card programMaintain and monitor telematics reporting and connectivityMonitor CMV and CDL vehicles for compliance requirementsMonitor annual CPA programs with vehicle manufacturersEmployee SatisfactionProvide overall leadership to department while acting as a team player; lead by example; provide necessary and frequent communication to direct reports to ensure smooth and efficient operation of departmentQualifications And RequirementsThis position requires a decisive leader with a passion for hands-on work in outdoor environments and a strong drive for construction project management work. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.High school education is required; Two-year technical or Four-year related degree or equivalent related experience preferredIndividual must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and budgets, work on multiple jobs simultaneously, and fulfill all job requirements within a timely fashionBe willing and capable of completing personal development plans for self and subordinates preferred. Desire to learn and grow personally and professionally requiredAbility to effectively utilize basic Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and OutlookExperience, Skill And Abilities 5-10 years prior experience, preferably in the construction, renewable energy and wind turbine, or the road construction/DOT fieldKnowledge of estimating, scheduling, and budget processesAbility to manage risk & profitability successfullyPositive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiableBe highly customer-service oriented; ability to create new and maintain current customersPhysical Requirements Office and field environment requiring sitting and standing. Travel to various work sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise and the need to stand and walk.
