Job Description What You'll DoTrains personnel and instructs new employees as to duties, responsibilities, housekeeping habits and safetyCoordinates with quality control and methods improvement programsGives approval for all "make readies"Seeks, recommends and takes steps constantly to reduce press downtime and spoilage and increase production and quality levelsPasses on to foreman or head pressman of next shift such instructions and information as may be needed to assure continued efficient operationsTakes responsibility for obtaining and submitting accurate production and test roll recordsAssists foreman in all matters as may be requiredEnsures that personnel follow established safety precautions with regard to safety of all personnelMakes decisions on when to stop the press for correction of defects and makes every effort to restart the press with as little lost time as possibleInspects roll samples for print quality, including color standards, register, dry up, etc.Facilitates and promotes the principles of SMED within the department and conducts meetings to ensure SMED results are part of employees' daily focusAdvises foreman or other designated supervisor of repairs needed, operational problems, and requests assistance when in doubt or when issues go beyond controlOperations / ComplianceCarries out all company safe operating, sanitation and housekeeping policiesMust strive constantly to raise quality level of work, facilitate production, and cut waste to a minimumMust understand workings and setting of press and ensure press, press areas, and accessory equipment are kept clean and in good working orderMust be able to solve complex mechanical press problems and make fine adjustmentsWhat You BringMust be able to comprehend and follow oral, written and/or visual instructionsMust be capable of analyzing and exercising judgment in solving operational problemsMust be capable of efficiently directing activities of pressmen or other designated personnelWhy Join UsCompetitive pay: $33.91–$34.64/hourBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid time offSchedule & Work EnvironmentMust be able to work weekends and possible evening and night shiftMust be available for call-insOvertime may be requiredLocation RequirementsMust be able to commute to Baltic, CTAdditional InformationThis job description is not exhaustive and duties may change at any time.Safety RequirementsFollow all company safety, sanitation, and housekeeping policiesCompany DescriptionAmgraph Packaging, Inc. is a leading packaging manufacturer specializing in high-quality, innovative print solutions.
