Special Education Teacher Under the general supervision of the School Principal and Special Education Supervisor, to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district-approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.Demonstrated ability to develop differentiated lesson plans and use instructional tools to meet the needs of students with learning challenges. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to ensure the academic and social growth of students. Dedication to teaching in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking. Commitment to achieving high academic achievement for all students. Previous experience using data to inform instruction on an on-going basis. A clear understanding of curriculum, instruction, and child development. Commitment to meet the needs of every child in a diverse population. Ability to establish an effective and efficient classroom culture. Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation, determine goals, objectives, and directions. Prepare appropriate paperwork, including report cards, educational records, IEP forms, and classroom observation records. Create a classroom environment that emphasizes and supports literacy and math across all content areas. Capacity to nurture students and work collaboratively with families. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team. Possess a professional growth mindset that contributes to a community of educators.Bachelor's Degree. Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification. Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents. Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; to plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students. Well organized with good time management skills. Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form. Current Act 34, Act 168, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.190 days, 7 hours 30 minutes per day. Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Roberts Education Association. Bachelor's Degree starting $60,250; Master's Degree starting $65,900; final salary determined by education and experience. The Owen J.
