Network Security Architect

PeerSource is currently recruiting for an Network Security Architect on a Contract-to-Hire basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States.SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Network Architect with advanced Fortinet and Cisco expertise to lead the design, modernization, and security enhancement of a global enterprise network. This role will focus on implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing network architectures with a strong emphasis on SD-WAN, segmentation, and zero-trust models. Ideal candidates will bring extensive technical leadership experience and a passion for mentoring teams and driving network transformation initiatives.ResponsibilitiesDesign secure, scalable network solutions across hybrid, cloud, and on-prem environments for a global enterprise.Lead adoption and implementation of SD-WAN and ADVPN architectures for high availability and resilience.Spearhead network segmentation and redesign initiatives to improve security, performance, and compliance.Integrate and optimize Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) and Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki) platforms.Champion zero-trust strategies and enforce security standards aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.Partner with security teams on detection, prevention, compliance, and incident response efforts.Provide Tier 4-level support for complex troubleshooting and act as an escalation point for network issues.Serve as a mentor and technical leader for internal engineering teams, promoting continuous learning and development.Develop and standardize network blueprints, policies, and procedures to support global growth and disaster recovery planning.Required Skills10+ years of enterprise networking and network security experience, with 7+ years in senior/lead roles.Demonstrated expertise implementing Fortinet SD-WAN/ADVPN, zero-trust architectures, and segmentation strategies.Advanced knowledge of FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient VPN in large-scale environments.Strong Cisco expertise including Catalyst/Nexus, BGP, Meraki, and enterprise wireless deployments.Deep understanding of network protocols and technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and ISE.Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and familiarity with SASE and wireless mesh systems.Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with the ability to elevate technical skillsets across teams.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Fortinet FCX/FCSS/FCP, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM) are preferred.H1 sponsorship is not available.PeerSource is a nationwide technology recruiting firm that prioritizes building strong relationships with the talented professionals we are fortunate to serve.
