Precision Grinding Machine Operator
About the Role
As a Grinding Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in our production process by ensuring precision and quality in every component we manufacture. You will be responsible for setting up and operating specialized grinding and roll threading equipment to meet exacting standards, directly impacting the efficiency and output of our manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
Perform precise machine setups for grinding and roll threading equipment using technical setup sheets and appropriate tooling.
Operate production machinery to grind bar stock, ensuring all parts meet strict dimensional tolerances.
Conduct rigorous quality inspections throughout the production cycle using precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
Document production metrics, material usage, and quality data accurately within our ERP system.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and maximize operational uptime.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace by adhering to 5S methodologies and safety protocols.
Utilize material handling equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts, to safely move raw materials and finished goods.
Qualifications
Required Skills
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
1-3 years of hands-on experience with industrial roll threading or grinding machinery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and GD&T specifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Basic computer literacy for data entry and system navigation.
Preferred Skills
Experience with surface, ID, or OD grinding technologies.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues.
Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
