Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have Food Handlers CardMust have a HS Diploma or GEDMust have experience and/or education in food management servicesAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationMust be able to multi-task and work in a team environmentAbility to work with a diverse population treating people with dignity and respectPossess excellent cooking skills with an understanding of institutional cuisineMust be able to successfully pass a criminal background checkRESPONSIBILITIES:Maintaining the Health Department standards for food preparation, storage of food supplies, use of equipment, and the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room areasPreparing the daily Home Delivered and Congregate meals assuring that they are ready to serve at the specified timePackaging of Home Delivered meals and assuring that they meet Health Department standards for temperature, packaged to maintain proper temperature, and delivered within Area Agency's time requirementsMaintain current files of food handlers cards for all required staff and health inspection reports for all Home Delivered and Congregate mealsPlan or assist in planning menu cycles according to Area Agency standardsMaintaining portion control when serving foodMaintaining inventory control and purchasing all supplies needed to fulfill the Home Delivered Meals and congregate nutrition contractsReceiving supply shipments and checking in all groceriesThe security of food and equipment inventoryDevelop menus and food service system regarding special dietary needs participantsAssist with the annual Thanksgiving Home Delivered Meal ProgramSecond Cook will assume duties of Kitchen Manager in his/her absenceAssisting other program areas as the need arises & as it relates to the position of Second Cook.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
