We are a fast-moving company at the intersection of energy, technology, and critical minerals — and we're building the team to match.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Controller to join Element3 at a pivotal stage of growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this person will be the first dedicated accounting hire and will play a foundational role in building out the company's accounting function from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in an early-stage environment and wants to own something meaningful.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain the company's core accounting infrastructure, including chart of accounts, close processes, and internal controlsOwn the month-end and year-end close process, producing accurate and timely financial statementsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including oversight of bill payment systems and vendor relationshipsDevelop and document accounting policies and procedures appropriate for a growing operations-stage companySupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with the VP of FinanceCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providersAssist with financial reporting requirements for investors, lenders, and other stakeholdersIdentify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency across accounting workflows What We're Looking For7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with some exposure to operational or manufacturing environments preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience building or significantly improving accounting processes, not just maintaining themComfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment with limited resources and high expectationsProficiency with modern accounting software and tools; experience with Bill.com or similar AP platforms a plusCPA or equivalent experience welcomed but not required — we care more about what you've built than what letters follow your name
