Hospice Volunteer (Please read description)

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Responsibilities:
Patient care volunteers: provide companionship and support to our hospice patients and their families through visits. Activities may include engaging in meaningful conversation, meal prep, light housekeeping, reading, assisting with hobbies, and offering relief for caregivers.
Administrative Volunteers- Do not have direct contact with patients, support our hospice staff with operations behind the scenes by assisting with administrative tasks. Also contribute to special events and projects aimed at enhancing the family and patient experience. Our admin volunteers ensure that our care teams can focus on listening, caring and serving our patients and their families.
Veteran to veteran volunteers: offer support and companionship specifically to our Veteran hospice patients. These volunteers who have military experience themselves, connect on a deeper level with Veteran patients through shared experience, conversation, Veteran pinning ceremonies, and emotional support.
Pet therapy Volunteers: share the unconditional love and companionship of certified therapy animals with Hospice Patients. They play a special role in brightening the days of our patients and bring moments of joy and connection during their hospice journey. These volunteers visit patients in their homes, or in a facility providing emotional support that has been proven to reduce stress, lower Blood pressure and improve overall health and wellbeing.
Music Volunteers: Bring the healing power of music to our hospice environment through live performances, singing, playing instruments or sharing playlists. Music volunteers create an atmosphere of comfort and solace, positively impacting the wellbeing of our patients.
Qualifications:
Compassionate and empathetic towards others.
Free time on your hands atleast 1x per week.
Ability to work with a team
Pass background check
Abide HIPAA laws
Reliable transportation
Willingness to undergo a 2 step TB test process at one of our offices (Tyler, Longview)
