Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs

Clayton Services is searching for a Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs to join a thriving oil and gas company in Northwest Houston. The Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for providing executive-level leadership across field operations, production engineering, regulatory compliance, financial oversight, and strategic initiatives for a multi-state portfolio of oil and gas assets. Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $200,000 – $400,000/year plus discretionary annual bonus (20%) Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and PTO Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs Responsibilities : Provide executive leadership across oil and gas field operations spanning multiple statesOversee production operations and optimization efforts across assets producing approximately 2,200+ BOPDLead production surveillance, intervention planning, and well workover programsDevelop and manage capital allocation strategies and operating budgetsImplement automation, reporting systems, and operational technologies to improve field efficiencyEnsure compliance with regulatory agencies including state oil and gas commissions and environmental authoritiesRepresent the company in regulatory meetings, hearings, and permitting discussionsSupport corporate growth initiatives including acquisitions, technical due diligence, and asset integrationDevelop economic models and financial analysis to evaluate asset performance and capital investmentsReview and approve operating expenditures, vendor contracts, and lease operating expensesLead hiring, onboarding, and performance management of engineering and operations personnelMentor engineers and operations staff while fostering a high-performance team cultureOversee relationships with technology vendors and operational systems supporting field and corporate infrastructureLead strategic initiatives, cross-functional projects, and executive-level problem solving Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and operational management experience within the oil and gas industryDeep understanding of production engineering, field operations, and asset optimizationExpertise navigating regulatory compliance with state oil and gas agenciesFinancial and business acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlExperience supporting acquisitions, technical due diligence, and asset integrationAbility to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in technical and operational mattersStrong communication skills with the ability to represent the organization with regulators, vendors, and stakeholdersProven ability to lead teams and manage complex multi-state operations Vice President of Operations & Regulatory AffairsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related fieldMinimum 10 years of oil and gas industry experienceAt least 3 years of leadership or executive-level operations experienceExperience managing multi-basin or multi-state production operationsExperience working with regulatory agencies such as state oil and gas commissions or similar authoritiesExperience with production reporting systems, SCADA platforms, or engineering software preferred Vice President of Operations & Regulatory Affairs - Immediate need.
