Carrier Sales RepresentativeLocation: Columbia, SC (In-Office)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMPosition OverviewThe Carrier Sales Representative serves as a central point of contact for carrier partners and plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day freight operations. This position is responsible for sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of customer shipments. The ideal candidate is energetic, sales-driven, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSource and secure carrier capacity through cold calling and existing carrier relationshipsNegotiate competitive rates on spot and contract freightBuild, maintain, and grow trusted relationships with carrier partnersManage end-to-end load execution, including tracking shipments and resolving in-transit issuesCoordinate daily carrier activity with internal customer and operations teamsPrepare and issue carrier rate confirmations efficientlyCollect and verify required carrier and shipment information (dispatch details, driver info, equipment details, ETA, tracking, etc.)Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software to manage shipments and carrier dataMaintain accurate and up-to-date records in company operating systemsAnalyze performance metrics such as on-time pickup and deliveryPrepare lane bids and assist with contract or dedicated freight opportunities as requestedDevelop contingency plans and assist in resolving service disruptionsEnsure compliance with logistics regulations, safety standards, and company proceduresProvide backup support to team members and perform additional duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements1–2 years of freight brokerage or carrier sales experience preferredExperience in logistics sales or transportation operationsStrong negotiation, communication, and organizational skillsHigh energy, goal-oriented, and self-motivated with a sales mindsetTeam-oriented with a strong sense of accountabilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with McLeod software preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applicationsWork EnvironmentIn-office position in Columbia, SCStandard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
