Electrical Engineer
WGS Systems, LLC, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Electrical Engineer that will develop and
support products and systems for communications, cyber and related applications for United States
government, commercial, and international customers. Candidates are expected to have the equivalent
of 5-10 years of related work experience.
The qualified candidate must be capable of supporting electronics specification, design, development,
and production of complete products and systems. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding
in the use of various software tools supporting various functions in electrical engineering including but
not limited to analog and digital design, timing analysis, board layout, and board-level RF analysis.
The responsibilities for this position will include:
Perform electrical and related designs for product development
Supporting system design and integration into airborne, ground, mobile and fixed-site
applications
Supporting system requirements development, test planning, integration and test execution
Designing electrical hardware and generating parts drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of
materials
Developing packages to support the outsourcing, manufacturing and acceptance testing of
electronics boards and components
Coordinating with embedded software developers for product designs
Minimum Qualifications Include:
BS in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
5-10 years of relevant experience
United States of America citizenship
Ability to acquire a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance
Demonstrable written and verbal communications skills
Use of engineering tools such as Altium, Visio, Excel, or equivalent
Ability to work independently and within small groups
Ability to travel occasionally for work, including working potentially austere or hazardous
conditions
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Demonstrated experience in the following:
Digital circuit design and analysis, including state of the art microprocessors, memories and related componentSchematic capture using tools such as Altium or equivalent
Low voltage power supply analysis and design for printed circuit boards
Electronics simulation, modeling, and timing analysis
Familiarity / Knowledge / Experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
Commercial product production processes
Industry certification standards and processes, both commercial and defense related
Board level component layout
Experience with system engineering
Experience with Design for Testability and Design for Manufacturability
Integration, troubleshooting, and testing experience
Verification and validation of products to applicable standards like DO-160 or DoD/USG standards
DoD Secret or Higher Clearance
Former Military Experience or experience with Mission Engineering
Ability/Interest in working cross functionally to include within the systems and software engineering function
Experience with software development or scripting
Work environment:
Work will be performed in an office environment, with potential work in hangars, industrial,
and/or field sites
This is an on-site job. Accommodations for occasional telework will be handled on a case by
case basis
May include flight testing on government or customer owned and operated aircraft
A majority of the work will be performed in Frederick, Maryland, with temporary work in other
locations based on project assignments
Travel estimate is 20% or less
Compensation:
Minimum 90,000 Maximum 122,000
