We are committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in everything we do.We are currently seeking a full-time Millwright for our Grand Rapids, MI facility.Position Summary:The Millwright is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports plant operations by maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of manufacturing systems.This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial equipment and systems.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Maintenance & Equipment RepairPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systemsTroubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and power transmission systemsRepair and replace bearings, gear reducers, valves, motors, conveyors, and related equipmentPerform precision drivetrain alignments and equipment adjustmentsAssist with installation, modification, and relocation of equipment as neededFabrication & WeldingPerform welding, cutting, and fabrication work using established trade practicesFabricate and modify equipment components to support production and maintenance needsMaintain safe welding and hot work practices in accordance with company proceduresSafety & ComplianceFollow all established safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout requirementsMaintain a safe and organized work environmentReport unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or operational issues promptlySupport continuous improvement of safety and maintenance practicesTroubleshooting & Continuous ImprovementIdentify equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtimeAssist with root cause analysis and reliability improvement effortsComplete required maintenance documentation and downtime reporting accuratelySupport operational improvements to enhance equipment performance and plant efficiencyRequired Qualifications:Industrial maintenance or millwright experience in a manufacturing environment preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityWelding and fabrication experience requiredExperience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a maintenance teamAbility to read and complete maintenance documentation accuratelyStrong commitment to safety and quality standardsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during shiftAbility to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as neededPreferred Qualifications:Formally trained Journeyman Millwright strongly preferredExperience with industrial manufacturing equipment and systemsStrong desire for continued learning and skill developmentNorthwest Hardwoods provides competitive wages, comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, and vision health care coverage, paid vacation/holidays, and company matching 401(k) retirement plan.Candidates Who Meet These Qualifications Will Be Considered Further.Northwest Hardwoods, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
